Welcome

Welcome to Myland Community Primary School's website! Whether you are a current pupil or parent, have a past association with our school or are simply browsing, you are very welcome!

We are a thriving, friendly and successful community school of 336 pupils, situated in North Colchester. Our aim is to provide the highest quality of teaching and learning for every pupil in a secure and happy environment.

Our school is organised into 12 classes, with skilled staff who know each child very well. Despite being a large school, we still retain a 'family' feel and benefit from very positive partnerships between home and school. Our school was last inspected in April 2016 - Ofsted graded our school as GOOD in every area and our Foundation Stage (Reception classes) as OUTSTANDING.

Our school is also proud to be a national English Hub, designated by the Department for Education. We are recognised for our highly effective practice in the teaching of Early Reading and Phonics and we regularly host visitors from other schools, as well as supporting teachers from across the East of England in their own schools.

You are very welcome to contact me in person - I would be delighted to show you around our school. Whilst our website gives you a good idea of the opportunities we offer it does not replace a personal visit, where you will be warmly welcomed and able to see for yourself the high quality education that we offer.

I look forward to meeting you.

Welcome to Myland Primary School - from our School Ambassadors

Hi, we are the school ambassadors for this year. Our names are Olivia(Year 6) and Phoebe(Year 4).

We are writing this so people know more about us and our school (marvellous Myland!) We have 6 Golden Rules which help us to learn better and be safe around school. They are :

  • Do listen
  • Do work hard
  • Do be gentle
  • Do be honest
  • Do be kind and helpful
  • Do look after property.

Our teachers are highly intelligent; they help us learn and be more creative with our work. They give us a variety of different activities to do.  As well as that we have great midday staff who keep us safe and play with us without hesitation.

We have great assemblies which include the whole school. At Myland, we even have our own school song!

If you have any questions, please ring the school and we will politely answer them for you! We are very proud of our school and hope you would like us to show you around.
