Meet our Governing Body
Simon Newell - Chair of Governors
I have been on the Governing Board for just over 4 years and have acted as Chair of Governors for the past two school years. My special interests within governance are in safeguarding.
I am also a parent of two children at the school, which sparked my interest in giving back to the school and wider community in my role as governor.
Away from school life, I am a qualified solicitor and am currently the National Legal Training Manager for a Civil Service Department where I am responsible for the training and development of nearly 3000 legal staff.
Kevin Panrucker
In addition to being a parent and as a Governor at Myland, Kevin is also employed by Key Co-operative Academy Trust as Chief Operating and Financial Officer, where he is responsible for overseeing all the operational and financial matters across the Multi-Academy Trust. This includes having responsibility for managing the Trust's finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, financial reporting and ensuring compliance with company law and academy financial regulations. In addition to his responsibilities as CFO, Kevin is also responsible for all other non-curriculum operations including the management of HR, Payroll, Premises, ICT and management of the central administration support team. Kevin has worked for Keys Co-operative Academy Trust since April 2017 and in Kevin’s first 6 months, he led the academy conversions of the two founding schools and incorporation of the company. Kevin is also a qualified teacher and was previously employed as the Head of Education in three prisons in the East of England, and has also been a lecturer of mathematics in a Large Further Education College.
Phil Banks
I am pleased to have joined the Governing body of Myland School in 2019 as a Parent Governor. I have been a resident of Myland for over twelve years and have two children who attend Myland School, a son currently in Year Three and a daughter who has just started Reception.
I have worked across the public sector for over fifteen years providing analysis to drive improvements across areas such as crime and disorder, social care, the built environment and more recently at the local acute health trust. My interests include history, in which I am currently undertaking a postgraduate degree.
Stewart Roberts
It is a privilege to have joined the Governing Body of Myland School in 2019 as a parent governor. I have two daughters, the eldest has this year started her journey at Myland school in Reception.
I will be looking to use skills and values obtained from my profession to support the school in its aims and objectives to provide the best education and keep our children safe. I have worked in Technology Project Management for over 10 years, so have sound experience in working as part of a team to solve problems and I understand the importance of listening to, and managing key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Raising young children in the Myland area gives me a vested interest in ensuring the school works well for my family and provides me with a genuine interest in ensuring the same for others too.
