Monday 11th January 2021

Good morning Maple Class,

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend with some time away from the screen and that you are ready for a new week of remote learning.

Your learning for today includes rounding decimals in maths; exploring persuasive techniques in English; reading Stitch Head and some geography work.  A top tip for this week - for your English, keep some paper in front of you to make notes as the video plays. Keep those notes throughout the week as you may need them again. We have our normal Google Meet at 9:00am and we also have a second one at 12:00 (midday) so I am looking forward to seeing you twice today.

For those of you who remember him from the last lockdown, Joe Wicks starts his live PE today (he is doing this on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) so please also try to complete this if you can. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ

The BBC are showing live lessons on CBBC for Year 5 and 6 at 9:40am each day if you would like to watch any of these. Also, today at 10:05am on CBBC Mark Labbett is doing a celebrity maths lesson (he is on The Chase if you have ever watched that!) which I am looking forward to. You could also watch this if you would like.

See you soon,

Miss. Pender smiley

Your reading today is chapter 3 of Stitch Head and some more VIPERS questions. English today is SPaG focused and you are looking at specific tenses. Finally, your maths is comparing decimals now that you know about tenths, hundredths and thousandths.

Our final Google Meet of the week is at 9:00am – I look forward to 'seeing you' very soon!

Hi Maple Class,

Well done for all of your hard work today. I have enjoyed reading the work that was handed in through Google Classroom. If you didn't submit your work, don't worry as I know lots of you completed this on paper to bring into school at a later date.

Tomorrow morning there will be a Google Meet (just like the register at school). The link to join the Google Meet will be on the stream, ready for you to click on. This will last around 15 minutes and then there will be a daily PowerPoint ready for you to work through.

Check back here at 8:40am to see what time the Google Meet will be.

I look forward to 'seeing you' tomorrow for another monster-filled day!

Monday 4th January 2021

Hi Maple Class,

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

For today, I have uploaded a PowerPoint of activities for you to complete which you can find on Google Classroom and on our class page on the school website. The activities are based around an author who we will be studying this half term – Guy Bass. You can complete the work in any order you like but make sure you watch the YouTube video first as this will help you. There is SPaG, English, art and maths work for you to complete. The maths answers are also on a separate PowerPoint for you. All of the work can be done on paper (or a book/notebook that you might have at home) which you can then bring into school to share with us very soon.

Keep an eye out on the class page and on Google Classroom for details about tomorrow.

Have a great day Maple Class!

Miss Pender and Mrs Meachen 😊
