Welcome to all of our new Reception families (September 2024 start date)

You should all be incredibly proud of your children for getting stuck into their first full day at school recently; Mrs. Bensilum, Miss Dandy, Mrs. Dhanak, Mrs. Love and Mrs. Rose were all very excited to get to know the new Birch and Willow classes!  A wonderful day was had by all.

On Wednesday 4th September, it is the children's first day at school!  Please drop them at the pupil doors (through the gate on Mill Road); we will walk them to the classroom from there.  The doors open between 8.40 a.m. and 8.50 a.m., but for the first few days we will stay on the doors until 9 a.m. (just for Reception children) so that new families can avoid the crowds, if you would like to.  We will see how things go and then move to the usual timings of 8.40-8.50 a.m. when the majority of children are able to come in and settle with confidence.  We will let you know when this will be!

You can pick them up from the playground from 3 p.m. (usual end of day is 3.15 p.m. - again, we will let you know when we will switch to this regular time).  We line the children up at the end of the day (just outside the school hall) and ask the children to identify their adult as they get to the front of the line, so please just choose a somewhere you will wave from so they can spot you.

The children MUST bring a named water bottle and a nut-free, healthy snack (see the advice on the Parent Meeting Presentation for guidance), as well as their bookbags.  Please speak to the school office about ordering any school lunches for the first few days, while we set your accounts up on the messaging and payments system.

We are already speaking to nursery and preschool settings; thank you for letting us know which ones your children attend.  It is wonderful hearing about all of the things your children love to do.  

If you haven't yet brought in a copy of your child's birth certificate/proof of address, please make sure you do this as soon as you can, so that we can officially add all of the children to our systems.  Thank you!

Should you be unable to attend some/any of the transition dates, please don't panic; the information we give will be available to everyone!

Over the summer if you would like to create a 'Mini Me' or a family

'Mini Me' there is a link below to explain what this is. They are a great way for the children to feel involved in the environment and are used lots in our small world. We look forward to seeing them all in September!
