    Welcome to Birch Class

    2025-26

    Week Beginning 11.5.26

This week, the children have been book detectives!  They have been using clues in books to find out more about a story.  Using 'Man on the Moon: A Day in the Life of Bob', they have used the illustrations to inform discussions about what the author is trying to tell us, beyond the words that are written.

If you would like to investigate for yourself at home and find out what the children think, here is a link to a readaloud of the book:

We have been enjoying time outside this week.  The children are becoming so independent in choosing and sharing resources and it is wonderful to see their collaborative problem solving skills.  We have particularly enjoyed creating a deep puddle in our digging area and talking about the creatures that might live there, as well as how to care for them as tiny wild animals.

We are continuing to focus on number bonds to 10.  If there are any bonds your child particularly needs to rehearse, these have been written in their blue books.  There is also a game to support the knowledge of bonds, which can be found here:

    Enjoy!
